1999 Joe Montana Wheaties wax coin prototype. Kenner inserted large metal coins into all it's Wheaties figures in 1999. This is a wax mold of what would have been the Montana coin, but for unknown reasons the Montana was never released.

1991 Unreleased baseball coins
Unreleased Gregg Olson coin. There was only one unreleased baseball player coin known in 1991 Baseball set. The Olson coin is more common that the football unreleased coins, but it's still scarce.
*Update: I also found two 1991 Bo Jackson proof coins. I believe these are the only two examples known. These coins are different than the regular Bo Jackson Royals coin Kenner released. Oddly enough I found them taped to a production sample which appears to be the original mock-up for the 1991 coins. You can see these same two coins pictured on the Toy Fair Ad below. On the final Bo Jackson production coin they added the word 'Royals' on the front and the 'Kenner trademark' on the back. Plus the wording on the back was changed to be more concise on the released version.

1991 Unreleased football coins
Unreleased Bo Jackson, Roger Craig, and 'Fridge' William Perry. Kenner inserted coins into all it's 1991 packages as a new novelty. Like the unreleased figures sometimes players were dropped before production. These three were listed on the package but never produced. All three are rare, but the Craig is exceptionally rare, I have only see three or four examples of this coin. *There is also a unreleased Joe Montana coin as seen on the literature below, but I have never see this coin in person. If someone has the Montana, we would appreciate pics. thanks,

1991 Unreleased football coins proofs
Set of three unreleased football proof coins of Jim Everett, Eric Metcalf, and Reggie Langhorn. The 1991 Football set contains 26 coins plus 6 unreleased coins. The proof coins are about a quarter inch larger than the released coins plus they are blank back so it takes a front & back coin to make a 'set'. Images of the unreleased Jim Everett, Bo Jackson, and Roger Craig figures can be seen in the 1991 Toy Fair catalog.
